Day 10 – Integrity Will Protect You
Proverbs 10:9 (NIV) “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
Devotional Reflection: Integrity is what you carry when no one’s looking but it determines how you stand when everyone’s watching.
In Proverbs 10, Solomon tells us something sobering: those who walk in integrity can walk with confidence. But those who take shortcuts eventually get exposed. You may fool people for a time, but you can’t outrun truth.
Consider the story of Daniel. He served under foreign kings in Babylon far from home, surrounded by idolatry, and constantly tested. Yet, when his enemies tried to find dirt on him, they found… nothing. No corruption. No compromise. Just integrity.
Frustrated, his accusers tricked the king into passing a law that would trap Daniel in his own faithfulness to God. And when Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, it wasn’t his résumé or reputation that saved him it was his integrity before God.
And it still protects today.
Integrity isn’t just doing what’s right when it’s easy. It’s doing what’s right when it’s costly. When no one sees. When you’re misunderstood. When it’s not rewarded right away. But over time, it becomes your shield. Because what’s built on truth lasts and what’s built on deception eventually collapses.
Personal Application:
- Am I the same person in private that I am in public?
- Where am I tempted to compromise to gain approval or avoid pain?
- What areas of my life need a fresh commitment to integrity?
Prayer: Lord, make me steady. Anchor me in integrity even when compromise feels easier. Let me walk in truth, speak with honesty, and live without fear of being “found out.” Teach me that Your protection follows obedience and that hiding nothing before You is the safest place I can be. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Sealed Today: “Integrity doesn’t just protect your reputation it secures your future.”
